Hydraulic Gear Pump

Hydraulic gear pumps are durable, low-cost, and capable of a wide range of displacement sizes and pressures. Typically, gear pumps are rated at approximately 3,000 psi (206 bar) maximum operating pressure, though they can reach a rating as high as 4,500 psi (310 bar).

In our hydraulic pump type comparison, it’s important to note gear pumps are only capable of fixed displacement. If a hydraulic system needs to handle different amounts of fluid passing through it at different times, it will require valves to control the flow or a variable displacement piston pump can be used.
